Chris Stannard - Vice President, Operations

Just ask Chris what accomplishment he is most proud of in his 20 year career at SMS and he'll tell you it's his team and their diligent dedication to consistently providing an industry leading accuracy rate of 99.8%. And he should be, since the honor is unarguably due to this sports buff's unwavering leadership. Along with a yellow lab named Sophie by his side, his trusted side-kick and our company mascot, Chris oversees the entire SMS Operations Department including over 80,000 square feet of warehouse space.

With SMS since its infancy, and beginning as a teenage delivery person, Chris fondly remembers when the SMS warehouse was the family garage. Growing up in the business has given him a deep appreciation for the complexity of fulfillment strategy, project execution and the timeless dedication it takes to make it all work for our clients.

His willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done on time and on budget, his hands-on approach, (we frequently catch Chris on a forklift or wrapping pallets) his obsession with excellence and armed with a personality par non, all translates into continuing growth for SMS.

While Chris spends his weekdays mitigating risk to the multi-million dollar operation of SMS, his free time is spent pedaling his road bike to the top of Mount Baldy, dirt biking in the desert, and snowboarding at his favorite vacation spot, Telluride, Colorado.
